Currently, with the rapid development and application of various wireless communication systems such as smartphones, Wi-Fi, and IoT devices, efforts are being made to efficiently utilize existing electromagnetic wave frequency resources and to explore unused high-frequency resources. Various new research challenges associated with the development of new businesses using radio waves and the transition to even higher frequencies are gaining attention. In this context, our research laboratory is addressing these challenges through the research and development of high-frequency circuits that are essential for wireless communication devices, particularly compact, high-performance, multifunctional microwave and millimeter-wave filters, antennas, power dividers, and their composite circuits. We are conducting a wide range of research, from fundamental theory to engineering applications, including the proposal of circuits with excellent functionality, the elucidation of their electromagnetic wave phenomena, and the establishment of new design methodologies.
